ProMach Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Zacmi

February 2024

ProMach, a prominent provider of packaging and processing solutions, has recently completed the acquisition of Zacmi, a respected manufacturer based in Parma, Italy. This strategic move aims to bolster ProMach's offerings in the pet food industry and enhance its overall position within the market.

Established in 1954, Zacmi has built a solid reputation for supplying top-tier equipment primarily tailored for food and pet food products. Notable among its offerings are seamers for metal cans and pasteurization tunnels. With a rich history of innovation, Zacmi boasts nearly 50 patents and is recognized for its hygienic machine designs.

The company's global footprint spans across more than 2,500 installations worldwide, supported by a dedicated team of over 120 employees. Described as a "pocket-sized multinational," Zacmi operates an additional subsidiary in the United States, further solidifying its international presence.

ProMach's acquisition of Zacmi is poised to yield several benefits. Firstly, it fortifies ProMach's standing as a leading supplier of filling and process technology, augmenting its existing capabilities. The addition of Zacmi's product line, particularly in food can filling and seaming, expands ProMach's portfolio, enabling it to cater to a broader spectrum of customer needs.

Furthermore, the acquisition aligns with ProMach's strategic vision of offering comprehensive solutions to its clientele. By integrating Zacmi's expertise with its existing brands such as Fogg, Modern, P.E. Labellers, and Zalkin, ProMach can now provide end-to-end packaging line solutions. This synergy allows for enhanced efficiency and convenience for customers seeking integrated systems.

Importantly, ProMach remains committed to maintaining Zacmi's leadership structure intact. Giorgio Boselli, formerly of Zacmi, assumes the role of Vice President and General Manager, ensuring continuity and stability within the organization. Additionally, Caterina Pagani retains an honorary directorship, further underscoring the commitment to preserving Zacmi's legacy and expertise.

Reflecting on the acquisition, Mark Anderson, President, and CEO of ProMach, emphasized the strategic significance of the move in aligning with the company's vision of delivering holistic solutions to customers. Doug Stambaugh, President of ProMach's Primary Packaging Business Line, commended Zacmi's technical prowess and customer service excellence, highlighting the value it brings to the ProMach family.

In response, Giorgio Boselli expressed enthusiasm about the integration, noting the opportunities for growth and collaboration within ProMach's expansive network. He emphasized the benefits for Zacmi's employees, who stand to leverage ProMach's extensive portfolio and industry relationships to further enhance their capabilities.
