ProMach Expands Presence in Mexican Market with Acquisition of Etiflex

April 2024

In a strategic move signaling its entry into the Mexican market, global processing and packaging machinery solutions provider ProMach has announced the acquisition of Etiflex, a prominent producer of pressure-sensitive and radio-frequency identification (RFID) labels based in Mexico City.

This acquisition marks a significant step for ProMach, enhancing its labelling and coding capabilities across North America. Etiflex, known as one of the largest converters for variable information-printed labels, tickets, and RFID labelling, serves a diverse range of industries including food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceutical, and personal care.

ProMach's President and CEO, Mark Anderson, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "We are pleased to welcome the Etiflex team to ProMach. Their addition to our business continues the expansion of our label-converting capabilities, and it significantly extends our ability to offer a complete portfolio of labelling equipment solutions beyond our existing markets in the United States and Canada."

With this transaction, Etiflex and its more than 500 employees will become part of ProMach's Labeling & Coding business line, under the leadership of group president Alan Shipman. The Labeling & Coding business line encompasses renowned brands such as ID Technology, EPI, Panther, Code Tech, and Greydon, providing a comprehensive range of solutions to North American customers.

ProMach's integrated product portfolio, spanning labels and machinery, is backed by 17 regional sales and service offices, along with eight label-converting facilities. These facilities offer a wide variety of labels, from high-volume decorative labels to RFID labels and specialty labels, catering to diverse customer needs.

Despite the acquisition, Etiflex's leadership will remain intact, with co-director generals Sergio Shor and Ari Vonderwalde continuing to lead the team. Shor will serve as VP and general manager, while Vonderwalde will assume the role of VP of operations.

The acquisition of Etiflex underscores ProMach's commitment to providing best-in-class labelling and coding solutions to its customers, with a focus on geographic proximity and enhanced support throughout North America. As ProMach expands its footprint in the Mexican market, it solidifies its position as a leading provider of processing and packaging solutions on a global scale.
